Label-free Lab Award 2018: winner will be announced at ASCB | EMBO

For the second year, Nanolive is inviting researchers with an interest in 3D cell imaging to submit a short research proposal, the best of which will be awarded with the Label-free Lab Award 2018. This successful research lab will win a free 6-months loan of one of our 3D Cell Explorer microscopes. Proposals should focus on non-fluorescence based imaging that will benefit from the unique strengths of the 3D Cell Explorer microscope. You can find more information on how to apply here (the deadline is December 1st at midnight CET).

The winner will be announced during our symposium at ASCB | EMBO 2018 on Monday December 10th (4:15-5:15 pm, Theater 1) where we will introduce our technology and its implications for live cell research. Please, find the abstract below.

If you are not attending ASCB | EMBO 2018 you can still participate in our competition, and, in case of success you will be notified by email.

We hope to see you at our booth #528 at ASCB | EMBO 2018!

Runner’s Up Prize: A 3 months loan from our partner Nexus Scientific

We are delighted to announce that we are now exclusively represented in the US by Nexus Scientific. To celebrate this partnership Nexus Scientific is donating a second 3D Cell Explorer for a 3 months loan to the US Runner’s Up of the Label-free lab Award 2018!

Label-free Live Cell Imaging: Fine mitchondrial dynamics in response to cell shape changes

On the left panel you can observe a time-lapse of pre-adipocytes imaged with the 3D Cell Explorer for 1 hour at a frequency of one image per five seconds (movie speed: 15fps). On the right panel we zoomed a portion of the field of view to better appreciate the remodeling of the mitochondrial network. On the small squares on the bottom, four time point images are displayed. More information at: nanolive.ch/metabolism

Label-free Live Cell Imaging: Nuclear Rotation before Mitosis

You can observe a time-lapse of pre-adipocytes imaged with the 3D Cell Explorer at a frequency of one image per twenty seconds (movie speed: 20fps). You can appreciate the interactions between mitochondria and lipid droplets in a label free manner. The video shows pre-mitotic organelle spinning in mammalian stem cells; a phenomenum observed for the first time.
Objective magnification is 60x. More information at: nanolive.ch/metabolism

Long Term Live Imaging of Mouse Embryonic Stem Cells for 15 hours

On the upper left panel you can appreciate digitally stained Mouse Embryonic Stem Cells. The lower left panel shows the 3D view of the cells, while the right side lets you observe Mouse Embryonic Stem Cells’ Refractive Index map.

Lipid Droplets & Mitochondria: A dynamic and fundamental relationship in the spotlight.

On the left panel you can observe a time-lapse of pre-adipocytes imaged with the 3D Cell Explorer for 1 hour at a frequency of one image per five seconds (movie speed: 15fps). On the right panel we zoomed a portion of the field of view to better appreciate the interactions between mitochondria and lipid droplets. On the two small squares on the bottom, the two organelles are displayed for identification at different time points.
